Visionary Consulting Partners, LLC provides a wide range of consultative services designed to increase the ability of healthcare providers, community-based organizations and public health agencies in the design, implementation, and management of comprehensive healthcare quality improvement programs. Visionary provides Initial Outfitting Transitional and Activation (IOT&A) services; Program and Project Management; Information Technology; Business Process Improvement; and Organizational Development and Training.


We are seeking an experienced Human Factors Engineer who will be responsible for assessing systems/products and their compliance with human factors standards, as well as evaluating their effects on users in a healthcare environment. The Human Factors Engineer will work closely with cross-functional teams to take user requirements and define and design products, processes, or other solutions that meet end user needs. This role requires expertise in conducting human factors analysis using various methods and documenting findings, strategies, and plans. The Human Factors Engineer must have a solid understanding of all relevant human factor standards, as well as experience with SAFe's Lean Agile principles and practices to drive value and sustain organizational change.


  • Proficiency in conducting human factors analysis using various methods, and documenting findings, strategies, and plans.
  • Collaborate with team members to continuously improve processes and solutions based on user feedback and human factors analysis.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks and projects concurrently.
  • Document findings, strategies, and plans related to human factors analysis, and communicate them to relevant stakeholders.
  • Evaluate the effects of products on end users, considering factors such as user satisfaction, user error rates, and user performance.
  • Assess products and their compliance with human factors standards, including usability, accessibility, and patient safety considerations.
  • Five years of proven experience in assessing systems/products and their compliance with human factors standards, as well as evaluating their effects on users. Strong ability to take user requirements and define and design products, processes, or other solutions that meet end user needs.
  • Conduct human factors analysis using various methods (such as usability testing, task analysis, and heuristic evaluation, and others) to identify potential usability issues and areas for improvement.
  • Take user requirements and translate them into improvements that meet end user needs, considering human factors principles and best practices.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, designers, engineers, process information architects, and clinical experts.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of SAFe's Lean Agile principles and practices and use them to drive value and sustain organizational change through the empowerment of high-performing Agile teams.
  • Stay up to date with relevant human factors standards and best practices to ensure that products comply with these standards.
  • Solid understanding of human factors principles, usability principles, and best practices.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Experience with SAFe's Lean Agile principles and practices, and ability to apply them in product development processes.
  • Bachelor's and/or Master's degree in human systems integration, human factors engineering, behavioral science, industrial engineering, industrial ergonomics, systems engineering, cognitive ergonomics, cognitive psychology, or engineering psychology.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with relevant human factors standards, such as ISO 9241.
