Job Description
We are seeking a Human Resources Director to join our team in Los Angeles.

The Human Resources Director is charged with cultivating top-notch talent in an engaging atmosphere that embodies the essence to fulfill the most discerning guests’ expectations.


This person should see themselves as a culture ambassador for our team members and a servant leader and coach for our leaders. They combine the desire to authentically care for others with their human resources technical knowledge. They will possess a myriad of skills to succeed in this unique role that include being a skilled recruiter not afraid to step out of the norm to find top-talent with being a collaborator and business partner assisting leaders to be better leaders. All this to provide authentic care for our internal guests focusing on them reaching their full potential.


There is incredible growth opportunity in this position for someone who is flexible, intuitive, has great judgement and takes initiative. Our ideal candidate will have experience managing Human Resources in a hotel as well as experience that involved interacting with a full range of employees (hourly to leaders).

In addition, this position will require a large emphasis on creating strategies to help attract and retain talent that supports our goal of being a fun, safe and well-regarded place to work. As a broad stroke, responsibilities fall into four key areas: culture, whole person focus, talent acquisition and general people and culture responsibilities.


Job Duties:


  • Communicating and coordinating HR programs such as performance review process, team member opinion surveys, and open enrollment with Operations leaders to ensure first-class experience for team members
  • FAQ sheet to educate new hires about what makes their hotel unique
  • Participate in the planning and promotion of associate engagement activities
  • 90 day stay interviews
  • Assist in instilling confidence and trust with leaders helping them grow as servant leaders and foster psychological safety with ongoing micro-learnings
  • Assist with ensuring that internal communication is in alignment with company culture and guiding principles
  • Coordinate with local businesses to offer perks and conveniences
  • Serving as the first point of contact for routine associate inquiries
  • Foster a work environment where associates are given the opportunity to contribute to their full potential with cross training and development
  • Foster kindness and inclusion
  • Ensuring compliance with federal, state and local ordinances as required
  • Serve the team as a concierge function
  • Meaningful Onboarding program and Orientation
  • Providing learning and development opportunities
  • Expert with EAP and other resources to assist with personal goals
  • Performing general administrative tasks for the HR Office
  • Ensuring positive coaching opportunities to motivate, recognize and correct unwanted behavior
  • Spouse annual enrollment info session


Scope of Talent Acquisition Duties:


  • Networking opportunities locally
  • Work with leaders on interview and selection skills/processes
  • Manage 3rd party recruitment agencies
  • Foster “Brand” reputation in market
  • Train and support leaders with recruiting and hiring tools and processes; including use of talent assessments
  • Local community connections
  • Creative sourcing utilizing social media


Requirements


  • Must possess strong communication and listening skills, excellent speaking, reading and writing skills
  • Ability to diagnose organizational issues and implement creative solutions
  • Strong computer skills including intermediate or above knowledge of Microsoft Office programs
  • Ability to handle multiple and changing priorities in a professional manner
  • Ability to research and analyze various different types of data information
  • Demonstrated ability to gain the trust and confidence of managers and employees and influence the organization
  • Analytical skills with demonstrated ability to translate data to insight and then into action
  • Ability to objectively coach employees and management through complex, difficult and emotional issues
  • Multiple language abilities preferred. Fluency in English required and Spanish desired
  • A minimum of five years experience within human resources, preferably 3+ years in a Director position or higher
  • Ability to handle complex issues encountered using knowledge acquired through training and experience
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and group situations
  • Ability to consistently display courtesy, etiquette, warmth and enthusiasm on the phone and in person
