Job Description
JOB TITLE: Skilled Nursing Housekeeper DEPARTMENT: Environmental Services REPORTS TO: Environmental Services Director POSITION TYPE: Full time position. HOURS: 7:00am - 3:00pm M-F including alternating weekends CLASSIFICATION: Non-Exempt POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for accomplishing and maintaining the cleanliness of the facility. Essential Duties:
  • Able to organize, prioritize, and manage time, multiple tasks and projects.
  • As required, provide services in the Laundry area.
  • Maintain care and use of supplies and equipment; make regular inspections of building areas.
  • Respond and react in a kind, polite, and professional manner with residents, families, visitors, co-workers, and supervisors.
  • Able to read, write and speak English in a cogent and professional manner.
  • Maintain and facilitate a caring, compassionate and understanding relationship with residents by answering all questions and concerns.
  • May be required to perform other duties in keeping with the nature of this position which will not significantly alter the job requirements.
  • Report all unusual conditions, behaviors, and/or resident concerns to the appropriate Management/Supervisory staff in a timely manner.
  • Respond and react in a kind, polite, and professional manner with residents, families, visitors, co-workers, and supervisors.
  • Capable of concentrating with large volumes of work and handle pressure.
  • Able to follow procedures.
  • Adheres to all organizational and departmental policies and procedures in the performance of position responsibilities.
  • Possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant it using good judgement and ethical conduct.
  • May be required to work independently or assist others in the cleaning of other facilities or residences of the organization.
  • Possess the ability to maintain reliable on-site attendance.
  • Able to meet the physical demands and working environment of the position.
  • Report all unusual conditions, behaviors, and/or resident concerns to the appropriate Management/Supervisory staff in a timely manner.
  • Dress professionally an in accordance with the companys dress code.
  • May be required to perform other duties in keeping with the nature of this position which will not significantly alter the job requirements. Education and/or Experience: One or more years of experience in cleaning and caring for a building preferred. One or more years of experience in a healthcare or skilled nursing preferred.
  • Must attend organizational and/or departmental training sessions and/or in-services as scheduled.
  • Able to work mandatory work days and mandatory OT as needed.
  • Must adhere to all facility and departmental Fire, Disaster, Threat, and Emergency procedures.
  • Able to perform job duties and work independently with frequent interruptions.
  • Provide general cleaning and waste removal in resident rooms and all common areas daily.
  • Demonstrate interest and commitment to work with a diverse senior population.
  • May be required to work independently or assist others in the cleaning of other facilities or residences of the organization.
