Job Summary: Acting as a member of the interdisciplinary group, and under the supervision of a registered nurse, the hospice aide#s primary function is to provide personal care to clients and assist with activities of daily living, simple meal preparation, non-sterile wound care, and rehabilitation exercises in an effort to meet the patient#s personal needs and promote comfort.# The Hospice Aide provides care as directed by the professional staff members, is responsible for observing the patient, reporting these observations and documenting observations and care performed.# The Hospice Aide will be assigned in a manner that promotes quality, continuity and safety of a patient#s care. Minimum Qualifications: Education: High School diploma or GED.# Successful completion of a Nursing Assistant Course with certification. Experience:# Work experience in a health care related setting dealing with patients for at least one (1) year is required, with experience in a hospice setting preferred. Licensure/Certification:# Current certification as a Nursing Assistant required. Must have a current American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Provider Card.
