Job Description
JOB SUMMARY
  • The purpose of this classification is to fuse together key all-hazard intelligence resources from local, state, and federal agencies as well as private industries to facilitate information collection, prioritization, classification, analysis, and sharing, to better defend and support the citizens and critical infrastructure of Henry County. The incumbent will assist with disaster response or crisis management activities, provide training on intelligence sharing, and provide real-time intelligence for emergency events.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
  • Conduct database checks and provide analyzed results in a report to respond to requests for information in a timely, efficient manner
  • Conduct intelligence threat assessments for all tier 2 or greater facilities in Henry County
  • Compile reports and undertake projects relating to all-hazard issues as needed
  • Partner with other jurisdictions in the gathering, vetting, validating, and dissemination of actionable intelligence during multi-jurisdictional operations
  • Compile in-depth intelligence products and complete projects relating to criminal activity, terrorism, cyber, or critical infrastructure and help with special projects as needed
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Operate as the primary intelligence provider for all-hazard threats and incidents in the county
  • Facilitate the exchange of criminal, terrorism, and critical infrastructure information and intelligence between the state fusion center and all law enforcement, public safety, homeland security partners, and private industry partners in Henry County and other local surrounding areas when applicable
  • Analyze multi-faceted data to show methods, trends, and patterns relating to Henry County
  • Support school safety efforts and other threats to life with local public safety officials in Henry County
  • Support initial incident response to local school systems, emergency management, and public safety agencies for man-made threats and disasters as needed or directed
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Must be able to travel statewide and regionally as dictated by business needs.
  • Skill in the use of computers for data entry, word processing, and/or accounting purposes.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Emergency Management, Political Science, Homeland Security, Criminal Justice, Government, Business, or a closely related field required; supplemented by five years of experience in a related field; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.
  • Ability to maintain accurate and complete files, manage multiple priorities, and follow oral and written instructions.
  • Knowledge of County or departmental policies, practices, and procedures.
  • Ability to meet and deal with employees and the public in an effective and courteous manner.
  • Ability to work independently, semi-independently, and collaboratively, establishing priorities, and achieving high level results with limited direct supervision.
  • Skill in research and analysis techniques to effectively collect, analyze, summarize, interpret, and communicate information and technical data.
  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be able to work outside of normal business hours and respond to work-related contact on short notice as dictated by business needs.
  • Licenses or Certifications:
    • Must possess and maintain a valid Georgia driver’s license.
  • Skill in effective communication, both verbally and in writing.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
  • Work requires the ability to exert moderate, though not constant physical effort, typically involving some combination of climbing and balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and prolonged standing, and which may involve some lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling of objects and materials of moderate weight (12-20 pounds).

  • Performance of essential functions may require exposure to adverse environmental conditions, such as dirt, dust, pollen, odors, wetness, humidity, rain, temperature and noise extremes, unsafe structures, heights, confined spaces, traffic hazards, bright/dim lights, toxic agents, animal/wildlife attacks, animal/human bites, explosives, firearms, violence, disease, pathogenic substances, or rude/irate customers.

  • Some tasks require the ability to perceive and discriminate colors or shades of color, sounds, odor, taste, depth, texture, and visual cues or signals. Some tasks require the ability to communicate orally.
