Purpose
An Electrician Helper - Journeyman is responsible for working with a team that will be building, maintaining and operating distribution and transmission substations. Helper - Journeyman will also work with devices to help restore electric power to commercial, industrial, agricultural and residential customers.
Accountabilities

- Work with team to maintain positive team morale and work environment
- Capable of responding (as required) to calls for the restoration of the Transmission and Distribution System both during business hours and outside of business hours
- Have or be able to learn a broad spectrum of job tasks required with a solid electrical and mechanical aptitude
- Safe over the road driving and jobsite operations of equipment
- Ability to follow approved work practices involving dead-line and live line working procedures on Distribution and Transmission Systems
- Constantly look at process improvement to ensure optimal team effectiveness
- Capable of working within a team environment with a positive self-motivating attitude and good work ethics
- Demonstrate competency with computers
- Ability to utilize the prints, diagrams and manuals for trouble shooting and problem solving
- Ability to expertly represent the company and the company brand while working with customers
Education and Experience
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Have completed or able to complete a structured apprenticeship program or equivalent.
- Knowledge of various electrical test equipment
- HS diploma or equivalent
- Must be able to complete Introduction to Line Work course within 30 days
- Must comply with the living requirement for this position (PA-5)
- Time management skills
- Experience in identifying safety hazards and teaching safety protocols
- Must have or be able to acquire a Class A CDL Driver’s License with HazMat endorsement.
