Your Impact:

Analyzes malfunctions and repairs, rebuilds and maintains power equipment, such as cranes, power shovels, machines, conveyors, bulldozers, dredges, pumps, compressors, and pneumatic tools. Operates and inspects machines or quipment to diagnose defects. Dismantles and reassembles equipment, using hoists and hand tools. Uses micrometers and guages to examine parts for damage or excessive wear. Replaces defective engines and subassemblies such as transmissions. Tests overhauled equipment to ensure operating efficiency. May direct workers engaged in cleaning parts and assisting with assembly and disassembly of equipment. Performs other duties as assigned.

Here’s What You’ll Need:

Qualifications

• Must have a minimum 2 years "hands on" experience as journey level mechanic.
• Must have and wear hard-toed safety shoes which meet ASTM F2413-05 standards.
• Must possess tools of the trade.
• High school graduate or equivalent
• Successful candidate will be subject to a government security investigation and must continually meet eligibility requirements for access to all areas of Naval Submarine Base Kings Bay.
