Southwest Public Health District consists of: Baker, Calhoun, Colquitt, Decatur, Dougherty, Early, Grady, Lee, Miller, Mitchell, Seminole, Terrell, Thomas, and Worth counties.


General Nature of Work

  • Provides outstanding customer service.
  • Coordinates hearing screenings of newborn babies within a 14-county health district.
  • Conducts follow-up consults with families of babies requiring initial or additional testing.
  • Develops and maintains a network of community resources, i.e., hospitals, audiologist, etc.
  • Maintains HIPAA standards related to Privacy and Security
  • Compiling data and submitting reports.

Minimum Qualifications

Master's degree in a related field from an accredited college or university OR Bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited college or university AND Two years of experience performing work related to area of assignment OR Six years of experience performing work related to area of assignment. (Please mail or bring a copy of College Transcript or Diploma to Interview). Physical Requirements include occasional lifting of up to 45 lbs.


Preferred Qualifications

· Previous employment with any state’s Department of Public Health or a County Board of Health

  • Bilingual (Spanish), ability to interpret and translate health care information orally and in writing from English to Spanish and from Spanish to English.
  • Newborn Hearing Assessment experience
  • Budget management

This position may require driving company vehicles (Valid driver’s license required) and working some evenings and weekends during special events such as health fairs and responding to disasters.
