Job Summary

The Data Analyst will serve as an expert consultant to our internal teams by designing and deploying tools to discover insights within healthcare data sets. They will help transform complex data and concepts into understandable, usable information for our internal and external customers through both written reports and analyses and in-person presentations and consultation. They will be a key member of a growing team at Proactive MD dedicated to empowering our entire organization—from leadership to clinicians—with the insights that drive superior service delivery and move the needle on the health of our patients.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Build models that capture a wide range of health care operations (e.g. total cost of care)
• Create, document, and validate data and operational processes.
• Evaluate, transform, and process raw data.
• Present and explain information in an accessible way (e.g. claims spend reports)
• Delve into data to discover discrepancies and patterns.
• Extract and integrate data from disparate sources (e.g. cost and claims or clinical data)
• Suggest ways to both increase healthcare quality and reduce costs (e.g. clinic utilization patterns)
• Collaborate with management and internal teams to implement and evaluate improvements.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

Required:

• Demonstrated knowledge and application of T-SQL
• Thorough knowledge of MS Office Suite
• 2+ years’ experience as a data analyst, business analyst, business intelligence consultant, data scientist, or similar role within healthcare
• Clinical encounter (EHR/EMR) data analysis
• Minimum of one (1) Year Healthcare experience with fundamental knowledge of ICD-10 and HCPCS/CPTs codes and their descriptions
• Bachelor’s Degree or extensive college-level coursework in statistics, data science, informatics, healthcare administration, public health, or similar quantitative field
• Experience with data visualization; PowerBI, Tableau, or Advanced Excel

Preferred:

• Knowledge of the healthcare field and experience working with different types of healthcare data (clinical encounters, quality measures, medical claims, laboratory, pharmacy, financial operations)
• Familiarity with data warehouse structures and concepts, i.e., SSMS, Azure Cloud
• Experience with healthcare data collection and analysis
• Proficient in the use of T-SQL to query and extract data
• Experience developing business intelligence dashboards and ad hoc reports using tools such as Microsoft Power BI, Tableau and/or Zoho Analytics
• Understanding of insurance billing/claims and eligibility data, i.e., EDI information associated with 834, 835, 837 data formats
