The Healthcare Data Analyst III is responsible for utilizing complex financial and healthcare data analysis methodologies to identify meaningful trends and create reports, dashboards and visualizations that provide business analytics and insights. This individual will act as a subject matter expert for the team by leading team participation in projects and providing training support and peer review to other analysts.


Essential Functions:

  • Develops and maintains quality assurance (QA) processes and works with team members to ensure consistent application
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Maintains confidentiality and ensures compliance with HIPAA regulations
  • Identifies team knowledge gaps and works with management to address
  • Analyzes, prepares, and reports on financial performance of contracts including but not limited to delegated risk, specialty and ancillary capitation and referral trends and utilization data
  • Leads team members in projects and participation in team goals, including process improvement and other knowledge-sharing activities
  • Synthesizes large amounts of data and applies advanced analytic methodologies to provide concise and accurate reporting
  • Interprets business needs and provides reporting and data storytelling insights for customers
  • Identifies opportunities for optimization and develops and presents potential solutions to team


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Able to understand industry and market trends, as well as organizational needs; able to incorporate those insights into analyse
  • Advanced knowledge of healthcare metrics, trends, and complex analytical and financial modeling techniques and methodologies
  • Ability to work independently on assigned tasks and lead team on projects or report development
  • Highly skilled at creating reports and visualizations that meet business needs and tell a story with the data that helps drive decision-making
  • Ability to develop complex reports utilizing the appropriate company-approved reporting tools (SSRS/SSIS, Excel, Power BI)
  • Strong knowledge of relational databases and database theories and concepts
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in health administration, business administration, statistics, finance, business analytics or related field preferred or equivalent
  • 5+ years’ experience performing data analysis in a health care setting
  • Home office that is HIPAA compliant for all remote or telecommuting positions as outlined by the company policies and procedures
  • 3+ years’ experience with SQL
