Our Health Unit Coordinator are an essential part of the nursing team and are responsible for the following:

  • Arrange Care Plan appointments between the DON and resident families
  • Set up meeting spaces for in-service meetings
  • Perform Nursing Assistant duties as necessary in times of need
  • Perform personnel management support functions, such as tracking training, education and licensing completion and renewal dates as well as maintaining departmental employee information, notifying the DON when updates are and training is needed
  • Assist with maintaining the Assisted Living policy and procedure manuals
  • Schedule orientation for new nursing department employees.
  • Complete data entry of resident information into PCC
  • Create new resident records and manage resident information in the resident care database, Point-Click-Care (PCC)
  • Provide direct administrative support to the Director of Nursing(DON) and the Executive Director (ED) as needed
  • Coordinate, create and update the nursing department schedule in partnership with the Supervisor & DON
  • Audit medical records for compliance
  • Assist with the management of medical records
  • Assist the DON in drafting a resident's Plan of Care
  • Keep nursing team engaged in and aware of education and training opportunities within the community
  • Keep office supplies well-stocked and reorder as needed

Our ideal candidate will have:

  • A minimum of one (1) year of experience as an Administrative Assistant in a physician’s office or in a similar position supporting a Nurse Manager in a Clinical Setting
  • Experience with Point-Click-Care (PCC) or similar electronic medical records system preferred
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite products
  • A high school diploma or equivalent in education, training and experience.
  • Knowledge of Medical Terminology a definite plus
  • Caregiver or CNA certification preferred.
  • Be detail-oriented, organized and a self-starter
  • Be an effective, clear communicator both in written and oral communication
  • A FUN, upbeat personality, positive attitude, and is always willing to go the extra mile and work as a team
