Health Service Assistant (Hsa)/Cna

Adelphi is seeking a Health Service Assistant (HSA)/CNA to provide direct care services in a Veterans Home in west Virginia. The services include but not limited to: manning the Nursing Station for wound care as needed, answering phones, scribing nursing notes, dispensing medication, no rounds are required beyond a once daily bed check.

Requirements

• Must have a high school diploma or GED
• Must successfully pass a ten-panel drug screen, at no expense to the WVVH.
• Must hold a valid APPROVED MEDICATION ASSISTIVE PERSONNEL (AMAP) Certification.
• Must have at least (1) year of working experience.
• Must be registered with WV CARES and affiliated with the Staffing Agency.
• Must hold a valid Certification as a WV Certified Nurse Assistant or Nurse Aide.
• Must have a current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Card.

Responsibilities

• Must adhere to the mandatory overtime policy and guidelines set by the facility.
• Must assist professional nursing staff in providing care to residents, including administering medications and assisting in care planning and recording.
• Must respond to inquiries of family members, advocates and other interested parties, ensuring adherence to the State and Federal Confidentiality Laws, and the HIPAA Regulations.
• Must record all work in resident charts and PointClickCare.
• Must provide support and assistance with daily activities as directed by the supervisor.
• Must ensure documentation into resident’ electronic medical records or paper chart are entered in a timely manner per the policies, procedures, and common practices of the facility. Proper methods of documentation will be discussed in greater detail during the facility orientation.
