Head Toddler Teacher Jobs

Summary
Fauntleroy Children's Center has been the heart of Childcare in the beautiful Fauntleroy neighborhood of West Seattle for 45 years. We are looking for an experienced teacher to join an established teaching team that has taught in our toddler room for more than 13 years. Our ideal candidate is a leader who is focused on building relationships with families and co-workers and puts children first.
This is a 40 hour/week position. In classroom hours are 11AM-6 PM Monday through Friday. With an additional hour of paid planning time and weekly out of classroom team meetings.

Duties
The list below includes many, but not all duties a Lead Teacher with engage in

• Change Diapers and train children to use the toilet
• Serve lunch and snack and track dietary needs of the children
• Develop age appropriate curriculum that provides a springboard for learning
• Care for the physical and emotional well being of each of your co-workers
• Care for the physical and emotional well being of each child in the class
• Hold parent conferences twice yearly
• Teach self-help skills
• Communicate thoroughly with parents verbally and through our online software
• Create weekly written reflections on classroom curriculum, behaviors, growth, concerns
• Document curriculum plans, the successes and the things that need improvement
• Document learning care and learning throughout the day
• Partner with the morning lead teacher to create an atmosphere conducive to learning
• Clean and sanitize all surfaces

Requirements

• Familiarity with basic computer skills
• Proficiency in English communication
• 2+ years as a Lead Teacher in a childcare setting

Nice To Haves
Preferred qualifications:

• AA or BA in ECE,

OR

• Initial Certificate, ECE certification & working toward AA
• Familiarity with Teaching Strategies is a +
• Commitment to on-going professional development.
