Job Description
Salary Range: 150,000-200,000 annually


Location: In Person, Hybrid and Fully Remote Options Available


Note: Relocation Expense Reimbursement Available

Job Overview:


Haefele Flanagan is seeking a talented and experienced Head of Technology to lead our technology department and drive automation, artificial intelligence (AI), and efficiency initiatives within our Company. The successful candidate will play a critical role in leveraging technology to streamline processes, enhance client service, and make our operations more efficient.


Responsibilities:


  • Identify opportunities to automate manual processes and leverage AI technologies to optimize workflows, improve accuracy, and increase productivity.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive technology strategy focused on automation, AI, and efficiency to support our firm's growth and operational goals.
  • Collaborate with department heads and the leadership team to understand pain points, identify bottlenecks, and design technology solutions that drive process improvements. Promote cross-functional collaboration and ensure technology aligns with business needs.
  • Oversee the selection, implementation, and maintenance of technology systems that support automation and efficiency efforts.
  • Stay updated with industry trends, best practices, and regulatory requirements related to automation, AI, and technology-driven efficiency improvements in the CPA and consulting industry.
  • Manage vendor relationships, negotiate contracts, and monitor service-level agreements to support automation and efficiency initiatives.
  • Lead the technology team, providing guidance, mentorship, and support in their day-to-day activities. Foster a collaborative and inclusive team environment that encourages creativity, professional development, and a shared commitment to our core values.
  • Ensure the security and integrity of the firm's technology infrastructure, with a focus on data protection, privacy, and cybersecurity. Champion a culture of compliance and adherence to industry standards.
  • Develop and manage the technology budget, ensuring cost-effective investments in automation and efficiency tools and resources.
  • Evaluate emerging automation and AI technologies, conducting feasibility studies, and recommending innovative solutions that enhance operational efficiency and client service.
  • Discover industry trends and new technologies for adoption within the company’s technology landscape.


Qualifications:


  • Familiarity with AI tools, machine learning algorithms, and data analytics to enhance decision-making and deliver actionable insights.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technology concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure a plus.
  • Strong understanding of automation technologies, AI solutions, and their applications in streamlining business processes within a CPA practice or consulting firm.
  • Proven track record of successfully implementing automation projects, optimizing workflows, and driving efficiency improvements.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on leveraging technology to drive innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Exceptional leadership and management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team, foster a collaborative culture, and drive results.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices, data protection, and compliance regulations relevant to the CPA industry.
  • 5+ years’ experience in technology leadership roles, with a focus on automation, AI, and process optimization.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CIO, CTO, or ITIL) and knowledge of CPA-specific automation solutions are a plus.
