Job Description

The Pleasant Hope R-6 School District has a position open for the coaching duties of Head High School Cheer Coach for the 2023-2024 school year. Teaching positions in various areas may be available with this position also.

Title: HS Head Coach

Goal / Purpose: To provide knowledge, motivation and leadership in an activity in which the student can excel to his full potential while competing in an atmosphere that adds to his total education including his physical well being, moral character, and social and mental development.


Descriptions:

  • Perform other tasks and assume other responsibilities as the principal, superintendent may assign.
  • Develop and organize a practice program.
  • To demonstrate an interest in student athletes and the overall athletic program.
  • To demonstrate professional growth by attending various camps, clinics, etc.
  • To encourage self-direction and self-motivation in students.
  • To demonstrate enthusiasm for coaching and learning.
  • To assume responsibility for care of materials, equipment and facilities.
  • Assist Athletic Director in budget preparation, schedule development and administrative documents.
  • Assists in the overall development of all levels of the sport in the community.
  • Maintain an effective system of monitoring student progress and to inform appropriate persons.
  • Develop short and long term goals, and work cooperatively with others to accomplish goals
  • Develop and maintain a year round strength and conditioning program.
  • To promote positive interaction with student athletes, the school and community.
  • To comply with school and school board policies and regulations. As well as policies set forth by MSHSAA
  • To create clearly defined standards of behavior and academic performance.
  • Delegates staff assignments to assistant coaches.
