Job Description
Digital Electrical Engineer
Hardware Department
Location: Andover, MA

Do you enjoy Designing Solutions for Embedded Systems? Have you worked in Defense Manufacturing? Are you comfortable working with Oscilloscopes or reviewing component level design?

Our team is seeking a lead to train, design, and communicate in a myriad system of Program/Product management, System/Architecture Engineering, Mechanical/CAD Design, Software Integration, within a manufacturing environment.

To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience
  • Interacts effectively with architecture/system engineering, program/product management, CAD & SI, ME, FW/SW, purchasing, and Manufacturing Operations.
  • Design and implement hardware products from concept to completion.

Required Skills, Education, and Experience:
  • Bachelor Degree in Engineer, Science, Technology. Or Math
  • Designs using high-speed digital design interfaces including Ethernet, PCIe, DDR4 SDRAM Memory.
  • Over 7 years of design with Intel, Freescale, Microchip, Xilinx, Altera, Broadcom, TI and beyond.
  • Design embedded modules, backplanes, IO interface modules, and more

Required abilities include DC/DC power, Clocking, JTAG, SPI, I2C, UART/RS232.
  • Support CAD and Signal Integrity (SI) with PCB Rules with Cadence Allegro or equivalent.
  • Develop detailed design specifications, test plans, and verification reports.
  • Debug skills for both HW/SW that range from new development to continued sustaining.
  • Use of HW LAB tools: Oscilloscopes and DVMs for verification and debug.
  • Develop schematics using Cadence DEHDL (Concept) or equivalent.
  • Leveraging design and being consistent across implementations.

Desired Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Include:
  • Commercial ATCA PICMG 3.0 experience.
  • Commercial Server/Blade experience.
  • Commercial/Defense 3U/6U VPX (VITA46, VITA65).
  • Design with network switching.
  • Design with Military Grade Components and Operating Environments.
  • Cadence Allegro experience for CAD/SI layout and simulation.
  • Design with Intel CPU architecture, development, and test including BIOS firmware.
