Guidance Counselor Jobs

Reporting directly to the Supervisor of Admissions and Counseling, a School Counselor meets the unique needs of students through the delivery of a comprehensive school counseling program aligned with the MA Model for School Counseling. School counselors engage in reflective practice and work toward cultural competence to provide culturally sustaining school counseling practices. • Provide direct services through the delivery of a comprehensive guidance program aimed at promoting student growth and achievement, addressing the academic/technical, career, and social-emotional domains. *Deliver appropriate school counseling curriculum and services in classrooms, small groups, and individual meetings with students.*As part of the schoolwide curriculum, develop and deliver activities and programs for college and career awareness, exploration, and immersion, including the ongoing MyCAP portfolio process.*Collect, analyze, and interpret data to improve program development, meet individual student needs, and identify and address equity and achievement gaps.*Implement developmentally appropriate interventions, programs, and activities to address identified student needs, including academic, behavioral, and social-emotional needs. *Maintain effective, culturally-proficient two-way communication with families around academic progress and mental health and wellness, including verbal and written communication and facilitating Parent/Teacher meetings.*Consult and collaborate with other educators, school nurses, administrators, family members, and community agencies to assist students with individual planning needs.*Act as the 504 Liaison for assigned students, including chairing 504 meetings, developing appropriate 504 plans, and monitoring plan implementation and student progress.*Support assigned students in special populations, including EL students and special education students, through participation in team meetings and assisting with post-secondary transition planning.*Assist in the administration of PSAT, incoming freshman assessment, and MCAS as needed.*Assists with admissions and enrollment activities as requested, including participating in middle school visits, assisting with incoming student enrollment, and freshman/transfer student orientation.*Other position-related duties as assigned
