Job Description
Job Summary:
Creates group exercise programs that are appropriate for the fitness level and discipline of the scheduled class. Instructs effective, safe, and motivating group fitness sessions tailored to the needs of the participating group. This is a per diem position.
Education - Required:
  • High School Diploma/GED


Education - Preferred:
  • Bachelor's Degree in exercise physiology, health, or physical education.


Experience - Preferred:
  • 2 years of experience in group teaching.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities - Required:
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to teach group fitness classes and cater to different fitness levels.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities - Preferred:
  • Understanding of human anatomy
  • Flexibility with scheduling
  • Ability to correct form and provide modifications and/or progressions to exercise
  • Confidence with public speaking
  • Ability to cover various class types


Certifications - Required:
  • BLS - Basic Life Support Upon Hire and


Licensure - Preferred:
  • ACE - Advanced Health & Fitness Specialist


Additional Qualifications:
  • Certifications specific to the class type (i.e. Zumba, Barre, etc.) if applicable
