Job Description

Community Healthlink (CHL) is looking for a full-time (37.5 hrs/wk) Group Coordinator in Northern Worcester County, MA.


The Early Intervention (EI) team provides strength-based, family-centered services for young children under three years of age who have developmental delays or are at risk of a developmental delay. Services are designed to meet the needs of each infant or toddler, and the needs of their family. The EI team provides services in the home/community setting with the goal of enhancing the child’s physical, cognitive, communication, social-emotional and adaptive skills.


This position offers a wonderful opportunity to join an expanding multi-disciplinary team of passionate professionals who provide the highest quality of care for young children and families. In this role, you will provide evaluations and assessments, therapeutic interventions and service coordination.


  • Adhere to all CHL's protocols, policies and procedures.
  • Ensure all center-based program policies/protocols/guidelines are followed as described by the Department of Public Health/Early Intervention Operational Standards, CHL-Lipton Early Intervention Program, and the Department of Early Education and Care (EEC) when applicable.
  • Attends variety of meetings, conferences, and trainings as required or directed.
  • Develop and rotate age-appropriate curriculum for children birth to 3 years of age.
  • Report any group or building related problems to appropriate personnel.
  • Early Intervention services are provided both in-person and via Telehealth, and/or community based.
  • Complies with established division and program policies, procedures, and objectives.
  • Maintains regular, reliable, and predictable attendance.
  • Oversee group referrals, enrollment, transportation (liaison, group staff coverage, service delivery, health related protocols and notifications, monthly safety drills, EI teacher aides and other related duties.
  • Complies with all health and safety regulations and requirements
  • Maintains confidentiality
  • Work as part of a team to contribute to the overall success of the program.
  • Perform other related duties.
  • Maintain client and administrative record according to DPH and CHL-Lipton Early Intervention Policies and Standards.
  • Collaborate with local and state agencies as needed.
  • Select developmental and educational toys, equipment and supplies for groups.
  • Assign clients and Lipton EIP staff to groups.
  • Responsible for the operation of the center-based group component of the Early Intervention Program. Provide strength-based, family centered services for children under the age of three who have developmental difficulties due to identified disabilities or delays, or if typical development is at risk due to certain birth or environmental circumstances. Support and encourage the family's use of and access to community-based resources that will continue to support the child's development. Provides and coordinates direct intervention services to children 0-3 and their families.
  • Implement group policies and guidelines.
  • Carry out all responsibilities as an Early Intervention Specialist when needed.
  • Demonstrates use of quality improvement in daily operations.
  • Coordinate daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, bi-annual and annual group tasks.


Speciality Responsibilities


  • Respect diverse views and approaches, demonstrates Standards of Respect, and contributes to creating and maintaining an environment of professionalism, tolerance, civility and acceptance toward all employees, patients and visitors.
  • Completion of at least 4 approved, 3 credit courses that focus on infants, toddlers and/or families.
  • C08 Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited institution with a major concentration in infants and toddlers - Early Intervention, Childhood Education, Special Education, and experience in early childhood. Master's degree preferred.
  • At least one year of experience working with children 0-3 years and families.
  • Completion of at least 300 hours of practicum or work experience with young children under the age of 5; additional experience with infants, toddlers and/or families is preferred.
  • CPR and First Aid certification.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of the importance of infant/toddler development theories and their implications for intervention.
  • Bi-lingual preferred
  • Early Intervention Specialist Certification preferred.

  • Demonstrates knowledge of the common risk factors for developmental dysfunction including maternal substance abuse, poor nutrition, environmental risk factors, cognitive delays in parents, prematurity and poor birth weight.
  • Early Intervention experience preferred.
  • Demonstrates the ability to support positive child and family development
  • Current valid US-issued driver's license and ability to provide a registered and insured automobile for work related purposes, including travel between work sites.
  • Develops appropriate functional intervention techniques for infants and toddlers with atypical development.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of typical infant/toddler development in five global domains personal-social, adaptive, motor communication and cognition.
  • EEC Certification preferred.

The Family Support and Stabilization team provides strength-based services to families, children, and youth under 21 years old who have significant behavioral health needs and are identified by the Department of Children and Families or the Department of Mental Health. Services include clinical, family and youth support as well as parenting classes. The therapist, in collaboration with Family/Youth Support Workers, provides intense and flexible family therapy in the home/community setting with the purpose of improving the youth and family’s functioning.

  • Ability to use a computer-based information system.
  • Proven ability to effectively engage clients, successfully advocate for clients and to work well with other professionals.
  • MUST be licensed or license eligible as LMHC, LCSW or LICSW.
  • Complete required client paperwork in a timely manner.
