DESCRIPTION:

Performs responsible, routine and semiskilled work in grounds and rental property maintenance involving the use of common tools and operation of mowing equipment. As well as picking up trash, moving furniture and cleaning/ painting vacant apartments.

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.

• Communicates effectively and courteously with customers, peers and others;
• Prunes and installs landscape plants and trees;
• Follows all safety precautions;
• Operates handheld motorized equipment such as string trimmers;
• Participates in training;
• Communicate with tenants and property staff
• Unloads furniture that may have been left behind from previous tenant
• Performs litter collection;
• Operates walk behind and riding mowers
• Performs other duties as necessary;
• Deliver excellent customer service as an important part of the community team, providing a high-quality living environment
• Performs leaf collection activities operating a variety of equipment;
• Performs landscape maintenance such as weeding, pruning, mulching, etc.
• Works in snow removal operations as assigned;
• Works various schedules as assigned;
• Actively participates in team activities planning;
• Assists in the maintenance of athletic fields, turf areas, landscaped beds, and other grounds areas;
• Uses hand tools such as rakes, shovels, hoes, bush axes and other ground maintenance tools;
• Performs custodial tasks in cleaning outdoor facilities restrooms; picnic shelters;

Qualifications include the following:
Other duties to provide direct or indirect service to the citizens may be assigned.

• Must have reliable transportation and a valid driver's license
• Ability to safely operate small hand tools and mechanical equipment

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

• Relevant background checks must be completed and approved.
• Completed drug screening

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Ability to work regularly in poor weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, or snow
• Ability to lift and carry objects weighing from 15 to 25 pounds
