What we are looking for:

• Ability to communicate effectively with associates, subordinates, and the public
• Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions
• Knowledge of the operation of tractors, trucks, and other grounds maintenance equipment
• Knowledge of the safety requirements associated with the operation of tractors, trucks, and grounds maintenance equipment
• Some knowledge of the maintenance of the maintenance and repair of motorized equipment
• Skill in the operation of a tractor and associated attachments and implements

As a Groundskeeper at our facility some of your responsibilities would consist of but not limited to:

Perform grounds keeping duties.

Mow lawn either by hand or using a riding lawnmower.

Cut lawn using hand, power, or riding mower and trim and edge around walks, flower beds, and walls.

Landscape by planting flowers, grass, shrubs, and bushes.

Apply pesticide, (only if permitted) to rid grounds of pests such as mosquitos, wasps, ticks, and others.

Apply fertilizer to ground to enhance growth.

Sweep walkway of debris.

Cut down tree limbs that are posing a danger.

Trim shrubs and pull weeds.

Perform minor repairs and maintenance procedures on equipment utilized in grounds keeping.

Install lawn furniture.

Rake, mulch, and prune the grounds as needed.

Install rock, cement, lighting, water, and furniture.

Water plants and grass as needed and apply fertilizer.

Responsible to ensure to keep all tools or items that may be harmful are kept safely away from residents.

Never leave tools unattended, when needing to retrieve other equipment and/or tools

Responsible to put tools and equipment where they are stored when job is completed.

Responsible to leave job area clean after the end of the day.

Other duties related to as directed by Supervisor

Snow removal during winter time.

Employment Requirements:

• Education/Experience: Previously related work experience and minimal education of high school diploma/G.E.D. equivalent.
• Other Requirements: Valid chauffeur’s license (not commercial) preferred. Must have a good driving record valid motor vehicle operator’s license.
• Personal Characteristics: Must have a pleasant and positive personality. Maintain a clear and well-groomed appearance. Dependable and safety conscious
