Groundskeeper Jobs

Job Summary

University Facilities is looking for a qualified and experienced Groundskeeper to assist in landscape maintenance, maintain intricate perennial and annual displays, provide general exterior upkeep, and perform snow removal operations for the University's Main Campus location.

Essential Functions

• All aspects of snow removal and ice melt operations.
• Mow, trim and edge lawn areas.
• Plant and bed care, including planting, weeding, edging and mulching.
• Able to lift 50+ lbs. on a frequent basis.
• Operation of equipment including skid steers, various lawn mowers, various hand tools, loaders, snow plows, snow blowers, salters, and other landscape equipment.
• Properly prune all different types of perennials, shrubs and trees.
• Trash disposal and litter removal.

Required Qualifications

• Able to work in adverse weather conditions including extreme cold and extreme heat.
• Proficiency in Bobcat skid steer operation is a must.
• Experience with various equipment including: Zero Turn Mowers, Tractors, Chainsaws, Line Trimmers, Hedge Trimmers, Blowers, Snow Plows, Snow Blowers, Snow Brushes, Mechanically Controlled Salters, Dump Trucks and other various pieces of landscaping equipment.
• Proficient in reading a landscape plan and installing new landscapes from start to finish.
• High School Diploma or GED
• Possess a valid driver’s license with a clean record.
• Three to five years of commercial or institutional landscape experience is required.
• Experience in mowing, trimming, edging, mulching, planting, pruning and snow removal.

Preferred Qualifications

• PA Applicator's License

Additional Information

This position is classified as Non-Exempt with a hourly pay of $21.55.
