Greeter - Welcome Team

Join our "HOOS Greeting" Training Program and take advantage of two weeks of paid training!

This program provides structured coursework and paid on-the-job training to prepare you for a full time, benefited position as a Welcome Team Greeter.

Paid training includes:

• Basic Greeter Job Training – de-escalation, wheelchair, and Golvo lift training; CBLs and front area and ramp training; patient transfers and EPIC software instruction; and tours of major clinic sites and the main hospital.
• Workplace Readiness Training – time management, communication, teamwork, problem-solving, conflict resolution, professional etiquette and image/appearance, etc.
• Customer Service Training – providing excellent customer service to patients and guests, working with challenging customers, role-playing frequently encountered scenarios, etc.

Training will begin on Monday, October 2, 2023, and go through Friday, October 13, 2023. Class will be held from 9:00am to 5:30pm the week of October 2, 2023, and 8:00am to 4:30pm the week of October 9, 2023, except for October 9, 2023, when training will begin at 7:30am. The location of training is to be determined, but training will take place within the local Charlottesville area.

After training, employees will begin on-site employment. The Welcome Team is currently recruiting for the following shifts:

• 1:00 PM – 9:30 PM
• 5:00 AM – 1:30 PM
• 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM
• 9:30 AM – 6:00 PM
• 11:00 AM – 7:30 PM
• 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM

Greeters are an integral part of our organization. They welcome patients and guests to Health System grounds and assists with needs to enable patients/guests to get to correct destinations. Responsible for addressing questions and providing information while maintaining appropriate confidentially requirements. Will also be able to manage the drive and parking area and may provide valet parking services if licensed and trained.

• In addition to the above job responsibilities, other duties may be assigned.
• Greets patients and guests appropriately, and provides necessary information while maintaining confidentiality.
• Works as a part of the Patient Experience Office to help provide all aspects of services.
• Transports patients safely by ensuring that equipment is clean and in good repair, and by using proper transfer and transport techniques.
• Manages work area.

Position Compensation Range: $15.00 - $20.74 Hourly

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education: High School Graduate or Equivalent.
Experience: No experience required.
Licensure: Virginia Driver’s License (VADL) preferred.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Job requires standing for prolonged periods, frequently driving, traveling (distance greater than 1 mile) and bending/stooping. Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills; Attention to detail and ability to write legibly; Ability to lift/push/pull >100lbs. Job is outdoors so seasonal exposure to weather elements. May be exposed to fumes, noise, outdoor climate, chemicals, blood/body fluids and infectious disease.
