Kreyol Essence (KE) makes natural + ethical beauty products with ingredients from Haiti. Our

signature ingredient is Haitian Black Castor Oil and Moringa Oil. Kreyol Essence products are

formulated specifically for those with dry hair, dry skin and curly hair.

As a social business, we create work for over 300 farmers and women, plant to conserve the

environment and seek to empower the women who craft our products and the women who use

them.

Scope Of Work Overview

Our startup indie beauty brand is seeking a creative and talented Graphic Design and Video Editor

to join our team, reporting to the Marketing Director. The ideal candidate will have a passion for

design and beauty, and experience creating visual content that can tell a story and engage our

customers.

The primary objective of the Graphic Design and Video Editor is to continuously create

for and maintain a visual database of assets that consistently align with our brand, keep up with

industry and social media trends, and appeal to our audience. This position requires the ability to

work independently, while also collaborating with other members of the team to create cohesive

brand messaging.

Responsibilities Include:

Graphic Design Creation

• Work with the marketing team to continuously improve both the visual appeal and usability of the existing Company website on desktop and on mobile.
• Maintain and build upon a searchable database of graphics for websites, social media, advertising, email marketing, displays, and other marketing channels.
• Work closely with the marketing team to develop and execute creative concepts.
• Maintain current knowledge of social media marketing, design and beauty trends to ensure our brand remains innovative and relevant.
• Direct product photography for e-commerce and print material.
• Work with Innovation Director to create design for product label and packaging.
• Regularly test graphics across various media.
• Use Adobe, Canva, and other software to create, amend, and update visually compelling content that aligns with our brand image and messaging.

Video Production & Editing

• Use video editing software to make requested edits and convert videos shot in-house into proper formats for different marketing channels and initiatives.
• Maintain and build upon a searchable database of video for website, social media, email marketing, and other marketing channels.
• Make relevant selections of special visual effects, music, and special audio for each video shoot.
• Regularly capture b-roll and other supplementary footage to support content creation.
• Maintain all video equipment and ensure they are in working order.
• Organize and drive video projects from pre-production to the post-production process to create visually compelling video aligned with our brand standards and regulatory requirements for social media, advertising, website, and other channels.
• Assist the marketing team with video upload and maintenance on the company website, YouTube, and other public channels.
• Partner with leadership to elevate internal communications through video.
• Create and study design briefs and scripts.
• Create quality multimedia storytelling using photography, videography, and text that accurately informs, entertains, and engages our audience.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, specifically Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro, and After Effects.
• Ability to independently make decisions daily, addressing the best way to handle specific tasks.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
• Highly effective working cross-functionally, especially with technical and leadership teams.
• 2+ years of professional experience in graphic design and video editing.
• Strong email and calendar management skills (Microsoft Outlook)
• A portfolio showcasing relevant work in graphic design and video editing.
• Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Film/Video Production, or related field.
• Strong communication skills and ability to take constructive feedback.
• Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment, manage time, and meet tight deadlines.
• Creative and fun with the ability to understand branding + cultures.
• Comfortable working in a startup environment, managing multiple projects, and prioritizing daily workload.
