Job Description

The Graphic Design Intern will play a crucial role in supporting the non-profit organization's marketing and communication efforts. The primary responsibilities will involve designing and developing graphic design projects for both print and digital platforms. The intern will create layouts, email templates, and social media campaigns while adhering to branding guidelines. This role offers an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a non-profit setting and contribute to impactful initiatives. The intern will be expected to fulfill assigned duties and responsibilities while possessing the necessary qualifications.


Responsibilities:

  • Graphic Design:
  • Create visually appealing and impactful designs for various print and digital materials, including brochures, flyers, posters, banners, infographics, and social media content.
  • Ensure all designs adhere to the organization's brand guidelines, maintaining consistency and professionalism.
  • Develop layouts that effectively communicate key messages and information to the target audience.
  • Digital Design:
  • Design and develop email templates for newsletters, fundraising campaigns, and event invitations.
  • Create engaging social media campaigns, including visual assets, infographics, and animated content.
  • Optimize designs for digital platforms, considering responsiveness and user experience.
  • Collaboration and Communication:
  • Effectively communicate design concepts, ideas, and strategies.
  • Incorporate feedback and revisions from team members to refine and improve designs.
  • Collaborate with the marketing and communications team to understand project requirements, objectives, and target audiences.
  • File Management:
  • Ensure files are properly labeled, archived, and easily accessible for future use.
  • Organize and maintain a well-structured digital file system for design assets.
  • Time Management and Prioritization:
  • Manage multiple design projects simultaneously, ensuring timely completion while meeting deadlines.
  • Coordinate with the team to prioritize assignments based on importance and urgency.

Qualifications:

  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain brand consistency.
  • Demonstrated portfolio showcasing strong design skills across print and digital mediums.
  • Currently pursuing a degree in graphic design, visual communication, or a related field, or recently graduated.
  • Ability to work independently, take initiative, and collaborate effectively within a team.
  • Proficiency in graphic design software and tools such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) or equivalent.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present ideas effectively.
  • Knowledge of design principles, typography, color theory, and layout composition.
  • Understanding of social media platforms and their design requirements.
  • Creativity, innovation, and the ability to think critically to solve design challenges.
