Job Description
Experience and Training:
- 1-2 years successful graphic design and/or multimedia experience required, in a university or non-profit marking setting preferred;
- Experience in project and vendor management;
- Strong portfolio demonstrating understanding of typography and the ability to work creatively within overall brand standards and guidelines.
Knowledge, Skills, Ability:
- Demonstrated experience with Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop) and/or Canva;
- Experience and understanding of content creation via direct mail, press releases, storytelling, web, texting, email and video production;
- Ability to manage multiple initiatives projects and priorities in a fast-paced, results-based professional environment while taking on new projects;
Familiarity with project management software;
- Experience managing the printing process, including print specifications and final files;
- Portfolio of compelling, engaging and authentic video content;
- Exceptional writing and editing skills;
- In-depth knowledge of University’s diverse constituencies groups;
- Passion for the mission and values of High Point University
Responsibilities:
- Serves as the primary graphic designer with a demonstrated understanding of current design principles in a fast-paced environment requiring the ability to timely deliver design solutions;
- Collaboratively write and design communications, solicitations and stewardship pieces for various constituencies and consultation of communications strategies;
- Provides forward-thinking creativity and strong design skills to execute a wide variety of print and digital assets;
- Facilitates project management and print production, tracking project schedules and managing communications with external vendors and internal partners;
- Inputs project tasks and track timelines to ensure department goals and deadlines are being met;
- Serves as primary point of contact for production vendors;
- Identifies and leverage graphic design and project management based on emerging trends;

- Leads project development in managing the Office of Institutional Advancement priorities, strategic initiatives and practical constraints;
- Contributes to creative brainstorming and strategy development for new projects, marketing campaigns and storytelling;
- Research, write and edits stories about philanthropic impact and donor features;
- Assists in strategically identifying audience segments for philanthropic appeals;
- Creates and execute omnichannel, strategic solicitation campaigns by writing and designing annual giving solicitation content for print, email, digital, and other outreach strategies;
- Develops and produces compelling, engaging and authentic video content;
- Collaborates and engages with Office of Institutional Advancement and Office of Communications colleagues (i.e., graphic designers, photographer/videographer, social media specialist) in the development of communication and marketing assets;
- Participates in the planning and implementation of communication assets including social media, texting, email, website and direct mail for giving day campaigns (two annually);
- Serves as a brand ambassador by elevating brand across platforms;
- Ensures all Advancement communications adhere to University brand standards.
