Job Description

DBL is currently seeking an experienced Government Contract Associate in our Vienna, Virginia office or remotely.


Responsibilities


  • Additional experience with commercial transactions involving government contracts, small business issues, and import/export compliance, including knowledge of ITAR/EAR issues and international transactions, is beneficial.
  • Extensive client communication.
  • Advise government contractors regarding their contracts with federal agencies, including compliance and regulatory issues; drafting and negotiating contracts with subcontractors and suppliers performing on government contracts; counseling clients on claims and disputes involving government contracts, including preparing and prosecuting requests for equitable adjustment and claims; and assisting clients with bid protests.
  • Advise companies on federal contracting matters including bid protests and claims, Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) compliance, subcontracting and teaming issues, and small business federal procurement programs.


Qualifications


  • Must have at least 3 to 5 years’ experience in government contracts.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills required.
  • A broad background in government contracts practice, with experience in corporate transactions, compliance counseling, and litigation is preferred.
  • Relevant experience handling all aspects of federal government contract law, including litigation and transactions.
  • Strong attention to detail required.
  • MUST be an active member in good standing of the bar of any jurisdiction.
  • “In House” experience a plus
