Job Title: Global Product Manager, Services, HPGR/HRC Product Line


Global Product Manager of HPGR/HRC is responsible for leading the growth of the product line in a profit and sustainable way. Supported and recognized on a high level in the Metso Outotec organization, this position is the sole product owner and requires a balanced combination of commercial, technical, and soft skills. This position reports to the Head of Stirred Mills & HPGR Product Group within GBP Business Line, Services.


Main Responsibilities:


  • Train MA TSS teams virtually or in-person, when possible, to strength competencies.
  • Select the best technical solution to be offered based on customer needs, competitive landscape, Market Area input, and business/profitability targets
  • Coordinate with marketing to generate sales materials and internal communications
  • Coordinate with the Quotation and Proposals team to generate complex proposals, (technical solution, source, recommended price, format, etc.) evaluate accuracy, and drive for timely delivery to Market Areas
  • Prioritize opportunities based on importance, size, urgency, customer needs, proposal back log, etc.
  • Steer business plans, strategies, and tactics by developing and driving the opportunity pipeline closely to the Market Areas teams (TSS/SAM) to build sales cases
  • Verify received orders and hand them over to project management, engineering, and procurement
  • Make technical sales presentations with MA colleagues, visit customers when required
  • Support the timely completion of GQS tickets and approvals
  • Work as part of the global HPGR/HRC Team by coordinating and communicating with key product stake holders across the organizational matrix (e.g., Capital, procurement, Market Area heads, marketing, account managers, TS and TSS, process, finance, FSE, Proposals, Repair Centers, etc.)
  • Prioritize engineering efforts for on time delivery of parts and projects as well as product development, productization, and standardization activities
  • Direct and/or participate in SAP harmonization activities of accurate part numbers and descriptions
  • Take ownership of, maintain, and increase utilization of GLP and MALP list pricing
  • Contribute to annual target-setting and forecasting for the product and business line
  • Manage IP and navigate competitor IP to avoid infringement
  • Determine and manage inventory levels and parts location maximizing benefit to the customer while maintaining profitability
  • Track install base and competitor activity especially in targeted Market Areas
  • Steer the product engineering team
  • Manage the business
  • Direct product development, determine what is funded and prioritized, develop product innovations and improvements by preparing RTD initiatives, budgets, prioritization, and drive to completion including marketing launch activities


Key performance indicators


  • Non-financial: product development, GLP/MALP utilization, opportunities development, maintaining stock levels, productization and standardization,
  • Financial: Orders Received, Net Sales and Product Margin


Qualifications:


  • Prior experience with HPGR products and technologies is highly preferred
  • Degree or diploma in engineering, business, or similar discipline
  • Manages time, skills and resources to produce maximum volume of work and reduction of errors.
  • Demonstrates cooperative team effort within work group. Works effectively with other groups and departments
  • Strong communication skills and an ability to lead and motivate others
  • Strong negotiation skills.
  • Competency with SAP, Salesforce, PowerBI and Microsoft Office Suite software
  • Fluency in English. Spanish is an advantage.
  • Up to 50% global travel may be required for this position
  • Observes safety regulations and exhibits a concern for safety.
