Blackrock Global Infrastructure is looking to hire an Associate for an immediate start based in Greenwich, CT.

About BlackRock Global Infrastructure

• While the Global Infrastructure group historically focused on energy infrastructure, it has evolved into more general, diversified infrastructure fund that focuses on high-quality, essential infrastructure assets that are critical to economic development and prosperity, and satisfy basic human needs
• Target sectors include Energy & Environmental, Low Carbon Power, Digital Infrastructure, Transportation & Logistics, and Regulated Utilities
• The group closed on Fund III ($5.1B) in 2020 and has since fully deployed into companies and projects across the global power, midstream, utility, digital and transportation sectors.
• Blackrock Global Infrastructure traces its legacy back to the First Reserve Energy Infrastructure business which was acquired by BlackRock in 2017. Since joining BlackRock, the team has raised and fully deployed its third fund and is in the process of raising and investing its fourth fund (see below for further details)
• Jupiter Power - US operator and developer of standalone, utility-scale battery energy storage systems
• Gigapower JV with AT&T - commercial fiber platform expected to provide best-in-class fiber network to ISPs and other businesses around the US
• The group sits within Blackrock Alternatives under the Infrastructure umbrella - across its various strategies, the larger Infrastructure platform currently has $50B AUM across infrastructure equity, infrastructure debt, listed securities, and solutions strategies
• E360S - Canadian environmental services/waste management firm
• Fundraising for Fund IV is underway with ~$5B raised to date. The fund already has closed on three investments - please see below for additional detail:
• The fund's investment thesis is three D's: Decarbonization, Decentralization, and Digitalization, with energy transition being a common thread touching all sectors.
• The Global Infrastructure group is headquartered in Greenwich, but also has offices in London, Singapore, Houston, and Mexico City; there is the potential for strong performers to move to the other office locations in the future
• Potential career-track role for strong performers

Key Responsibilities

• Portfolio Monitoring: assist in the monitoring of portfolio companies including analysis of corporate development, add-on, and financing opportunities, analyzing budgets, interacting with key members of management, and positioning business to be prepared for exit
• Financial Modeling: developing, utilizing, and analyzing financial models in order to evaluate investment opportunities
• Due Diligence and Execution: working with the team to assess and execute new investments. This will include conducting due diligence, financial review, preparation of presentation materials for investment committee etc.
• Market research: Performing market research, including research on potential investments, industries, competitors, etc.

Development Value

• Candidates will gain deep full-cycle experience in infrastructure investing through the evaluation of new investments as well as all aspects of running a business through the monitoring of existing portfolio companies

Skills/Qualifications

• Team-oriented
• Enthusiasm and commitment to working in a friendly, entrepreneurial, team environment is critical
• Demonstrable financial modeling and evaluation skills
• 2+ years of previous investment banking and/or principal private equity or infrastructure investing experience
• A keen interest in diversified infrastructure
• Undergraduate degree with strong academic background
• Strong presentation skills as well as strong oral and written communications skills

Our hybrid work model

BlackRock’s hybrid work model is designed to enable a culture of collaboration and apprenticeship that enriches the experience of our employees, while supporting flexibility for all.
