Kunkel Engineering Group is seeking a full-time GIS Specialist in our Beaver Dam or West Bend offices. Ideal candidate should be self-motivated, possess excellent communication skills, and pay strong attention to detail.

Experience: Minimum two years of prior GIS experience. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic to work with engineers, project managers, and other technical staff in the preparation of drawings, designs and figures associated with technical documents. Organization, communication, and design skills will be essential to efficiently produce quality outputs while meeting budgets and schedules on multiple concurrent projects.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and a willingness to embrace change
  • Knowledge of GIS software including but not limited to proficiency and experience using ESRI’s ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS for Desktop suite of software and the implementation and development of Web based GIS platforms using ArcGIS Enterprise and ArcGIS Online.
  • Demonstrated problem solving ability
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Consistent ownership and follow through to manage assigned tasks
  • Ability to manage conflict with staff and clients
  • Knowledge of and experience with software tangential to GIS applications and the ability to support and integrate into existing or new GIS workflows
  • Strong writing abilities, along with good oral communication and presentation skills
  • Strong background in database management practices and an understanding of relational data management systems

Qualified applicants will have experience with all the following:

  • Performing business-related activities as part of automated systems’ development (activities may include requirements gathering and management, data design & system analysis, system testing & training)
  • Applying Microsoft Excel features such as pivot tables, charts, database connections, complex/nested formulas, etc.
  • Utilizing ArcGIS or similar spatial tools and applications.
  • Communicating complex or technical information to clients.
