AECOM
is seeking an experienced Geologist to support AECOM's remediation practice for complex sites. You will work with a diverse team of technical leaders across a broad range of practice areas delivering remediation consulting services to our key clients.

The position includes responsibilities of a fully qualified scientist and utilizes scientific principles, theories, practices and existing technologies to develop technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems. Our Geology practice provides general familiarity within a broad field of scientific knowledge of reciprocal effects of the work upon other disciplines/fields.

AECOM offers full life-cycle solutions for projects – from due diligence through restoration and redevelopment to outreach programs that engage stakeholders and generate goodwill in the community. Our experts integrate scientific and engineering knowledge with responsive and cost-effective project management, strong communication skills, and an understanding of regulatory strategies and challenges.

The job responsibilities for this position will include but are not limited to:

  • Interprets and records data, conducts analyses, compares findings to relevant studies and local, state, and federal regulations to ensure compliance. Works under only general direction. Independently determines and develops approach to solutions.
  • Solves problems by use of combinations of standard procedures, modifications of standard procedures or methods developed in previous assignments. Participates in planning required to achieve prescribed objectives. Conducts analysis and investigation work obtained from a variety of sources.
  • Performs inspections and tests to ensure compliance. Participates in developing corrective measures and procedures. Formulates hypothesis, performs research and makes recommendation. Perform data analysis, modeling, visualizations and interpretations to support complex remediation projects including PFAS.
  • Oversee remedial investigations for adaptive remedy optimization and PFAS. Conduct remedy optimization evaluations and performance assessments. Prepare technical plans and deliverables for projects implemented under CERCLA, RCRA and other remediation programs. Project roles will vary including technical support and leading tasks. Comfortable working with a team toward a common goal, while working independently on individual tasks.

Qualifications


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • BA/BS + 4 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
  • Valid US Driver’s License and must be able to pass AECOM’s Motor Vehicle Records review.
  • US Citizenship is required

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • OSHA 40-hr Hazardous Waste Operations Training
  • Bachelors Degree in Geology or Hydrogeology
  • Experience with CERCLA and RCRA remediation programs at complex sites
  • Professional Geologist License
  • 5+ years of experience in remedial investigations and site remediation
  • Work as a Hydrogeologist in some capacity
