Pay: Salary + ROA Bonus

Basic Job Functions:

The Recycling Supervisor position responsibilities include but are not limited to taking care of our customers by executing the division’s safety, quality, cost, productivity, and profitability objectives. The position will be responsible for safely helping guide and direct our operations of the entire team. This role will be responsible for the development and execution of projects that align with the vision of the division to drive results. The teammate in this position will be in constant contact with the leadership team at General Recycling and the melt shop team. Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Supervisor and/or Manager Recommendation
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • Minimum of 3 years of leadership experience in recycling or related field
  • Above average computer skills as the candidate is expected to be a current business software super user
  • Candidate must ensure General Recycling’s compliance with all state and federal record requirements with regards to purchasing, selling, and transporting metal products

  • Coaching and Developing Others – Identifying the developmental need of others to include coaching mentoring, feedback, teaching, training, or otherwise helping others to improve their skills to work effectively.
  • Communication Skills – The ability to give full attention to what others are saying and communicating information so others will understand.

  • Developing and Building Teams- Encouraging and building mutual trust, respect, and cooperation among team members as well as effectively managing and resolving conflict as needed.
  • Judgement and Decision Making – Considering the relative costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate solutions.
  • Problem Solving – Identifying problems and analyzing or reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.
  • Teamwork – Working as a part of a coordinated effort with other departments, divisions, and supporting management to achieve a common goal. This includes adjusting actions as expectations shift or change.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associates degree or Bachelors degree in related field
  • Mobile equipment, Shredder, and other Scrap yard equipment experience
  • Project management experience
