General Laborer (Strong Mechanical Background Preferred)

Madsen Steel Wire Products is hiring general laborers (with strong mechanical backgrounds) for all 3 shifts - 1st shift, 2nd shift, and weekend shift! The Machine Operator is responsible for assisting the set up and operating of machine tools to produce precision parts and instruments out of metals and other materials. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical background.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

Ensure working environment is clean and safe

Measure work piece dimensions to determine accuracy of operations

Machine parts to specifications

Set up, adjust, or operate basic or specialized machine tools to perform

Align and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, adjustments, accessories, or materials onto machines

Read and interpret schematic drawings, diagrams, blueprints, specifications, work orders, or reports to determine material requirements or assembly instructions

Communicate with supervisors to plan or review work activities or to resolve production problems

Observe machine operation to detect work piece defects or machine malfunction

Review quality of work to make sure items meet client requirements

Competencies

Experience in a manufacturing setting

Experience using measuring equipment for verification of parts to specification

Mechanical knowledge of machine and tools including the ability to learn new equipment and techniques

Teamwork orientation

Problem solving / analysis
