General Education Teacher - 5Th To 8Th - Miriam Learning Center

The Miriam Learning Center is a program designed for students ages 4 through 18 who have average to above average cognitive ability, but require support because of difficulties related to speech, listening, reading, math, sensory or motor skills as well as other specific challenges. They may be receiving some special education service or none at all. POSITION: General Education Teacher LOCATTION: North City GRADES: 5th to 8th SUBJECTS: ELA, SCIENCE and MATH STATUS : FULL-TIME, BENEFITS PAY: Commensurate with experience REPORTS TO: SPED Supervisor QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's or Master's degree from accredited school in a related field Must have a Missouri certification Requires a minimum of 2 years teaching experience in general education POSITION SUMMARY: The teacher's role is to evaluate student's academic issues as they pertain to select school subjects and provides instruction to improve upon deficit areas. Must feel comfortable taking charge in new situations and working independently. Must be able to respond to work requests very quickly via email or phone.
