General Contractor Jobs

RNDC BR LLC has been awarded federal funds for the purpose of developing the Motor City Apartments; to be located in Baton Rouge, LA. The Developer has since contracted with Milton J. Womack, Inc. to serve as the General Contractor. The work to be performed under this contract is subject to the requirements of Section 3 of Housing and Development Act of 1968, as amended, 12 U.S.C 1701u (Section 3).

This is a HUD funded project and we are interested in making sure the Subcontractors and Owners of Section 3 businesses and Minority and Women’s Business Enterprises who live in, or whose businesses are located within the Baton Rouge, Louisiana metropolitan statistical area know about the possible employment opportunities this project will offer. It is also our intent to provide employment opportunities to low and very low -income persons, particularly those who are residents of public assisted housing within the City of Baton Rouge and East Baton Rouge Parish, residents within the project neighborhood, participants in HUD Youth-Build programs and/or homeless persons.

All Subcontractors and businesses must furnish proof of liability and workers compensation insurance and evidence of qualification as a Section 3 entity. Additionally, subcontractors must comply with the Davis Bacon Act, the Contract Work Hours and Safety Standards Act, the Copeland Act and the Fair Labor Standards Act. Entities submitting bids should indicate if they are a Section 3 and/or MBE/WBE business if they are located within the Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
