About HMGMA

HMGMA is the abbreviation of Hyundai Motor Group Metaplant America. It is Hyundai Motor Group's first dedicated EV mass-production plant and is an innovative plant with cutting-edge production technology applied.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

[ Position Summary ]

Technical Specialist for assembly areas in the General Assembly Department of an automotive manufacturing environment. Job requirements include preparation of process documents, equipment install/modification before new vehicle launch, monitoring and drafting production process and making draft in 4M during non-launching time period. It is also required to check the vehicle structure and communicate with Design Team in R&D if necessary.

[ Essential Functions ]

1. Serve as technical expert of assigned area during vehicle launches.

2. Coordinate and lead project activities, including new equipment installation, supplier selection,

and implementation phases.

3. Need to prepare spec package after reviewing requirement.

(Quality, Safety, UPH, Layout, Ergonomics etc.)

4. Communicate with Advanced Vehicle Manufacturing Engineering Team in Korea and

other relevant teams in R&D from Korea/USA for successful launch.

5. Host video conference in new vehicle design improvement and status follow up meeting.

6. Responsible for preparation of the Assembly Process Sheets considering method and line condition

with detailed picture and text.

7. Work content to be explained through a picture drawn in the workers’ position according to

work content, work order and work status.

8. Responsible to check the workability and quality for vehicle assembly.

- Ability to check vehicle drawing (tightening hardware and torque, vehicle dimension, etc)

and design work process as the assembly sequence.

9. Determine the Man Hour based on MODAPTS and optimize allocation Analyze and

continuously improve performance of assigned area (safety, quality, production, cost, and human factors).

10. Participate in Cross Functional Teams (CFT) and other problem solving teams,

as directed by Senior Management.

11. Serve as technical expert for Team Members, Team Leaders, including technical training,

as required.

12. Support daily production issues as required.

13. Continually review technical developments in area of responsibility and

propose new technology projects as appropriate.

13. Prepare presentations/reports on current projects, progress, and issues to management.

14. Understand and control labor allocation.

15. Meet all other requirements as assigned.

16. Ability to perform multi-tasks with multiple priorities within a designated time frame.

Qualifications & Preferences

Minimum:

1. Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering discipline or equivalent or equivalent desired

2. (Other) No reason for disqualification for overseas travel or stay

Preferred:

1. Experience in vehicle assemby processes and equipments of General Assembly division.

2. Experience or knowledge of the new plant construction process.

3. 10 – 15 years job related experience in an engineering/industrial environment

4. Experience in vehicle assembly automation and automatic supply of assembly parts

Preferred Skills/Knowledge : MS Word / Excel / Powerpoint / CATIA, CAD or similar programs

Competency Based:

  • Those with good communication skills and excellent leadership skills
  • Able to identify the root causes of problems and take the lead in solving them

• Domestic / International travel required
