CACI is seeking a Programmer/Game Developer to provide modeling and simulation support to our customer on Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland
Responsibilities:
- Develop, iterate, and optimize both new and existing features while maintaining compatibility with existing structure.
- Work with artists and digital content to implement robust, performant, and interactive features using Unreal Engine.
- Test, review, and provide constructive criticism on work submitted by peers.
- Respond to and apply constructive criticism to own work.
- Work with programmers and engineers to implement technical data.
- Review, analyze, and test features before, during, and post-integration with the main codebase.
- Maintain holistic understanding of the project to successfully inform government client and external government customers about capabilities and integration opportunities.
- Work with game programmers to build, test, and create new and existing features using Unreal Engine.
- Convert prototype-style content into fully featured and optimized C++ code.
- Document design decisions, requirements, user manuals, technical papers, etc.
Required Skills:
- Must possess experience in game programming utilizing C++ and Microsoft Visual Studio for Unreal Engine.
- BS Computer Science, Software Engineering, or Game Development with 3 yrs. experience in game development or game programming.
- Ability to comprehend existing code and non-destructively update, improve, expand, and adjust behavior.
- Must be a US Citizen and eligible to obtain security clearance.
- Broad understanding of the Unreal Engine 4 and/or 5 editor structure and suite of tools.
- Ability to adhere to an existing code style and properly comment and document new work.
- Willingness to work a hybrid schedule in the Aberdeen, MD area.
Desired Skills
- Experience working with Jira for project tracking and collaboration.
- Experience working with Perforce version control.
- Familiarity with the content creation pipeline for game development.
- Experience working with Git and GitLab version control.
Understanding of performance profiling for the Windows PC platform
