Job Description

As a Maintenance Leader you will be responsible for all maintenance activities on site, manufacturing and facilities. As part of construction and installation, you will influence activities while creating your department and its structure. Decisions will rely heavily on ensuring a lean manufacturing environment, focusing on Safety, People, Quality, Responsiveness, Cost, and Environment (SPQRCE). Responsible for training others. The work environment is diverse and will require excellent communication skills.

Scope:

  • Lead the maintenance and repair of cell manufacturing equipment and supporting process facilities
  • Demonstrates initiative by reaching beyond work assigned to improve output and/or help others
  • Communicates with plant, support staffs and LG Chem teams
  • Leads the selection of new employees. Hires, trains, develops and evaluates employees
  • Frequent collaboration with others outside of the work group
  • Responsible for creating budgets and forecasts within assigned area
  • Establish collaborative work standards for maintenance team and industrial maintenance technicians
  • Establishes a course of action to accomplish completion of the job and/or project and proven ability to manage multiple and significantly complex projects and assignments with the highest level of autonomy and accountability for results
  • Implement strategies to improve equipment uptime and system availability
  • Obtains a deep knowledge and ability to implement GMS/Lean Manufacturing principles
  • Validated ability in project management skills and ability to teach others and shown desire and ability to manage/coach performance of direct reports
  • Sets strategy and implements solutions to problems and sets schedule and quality requirements
  • Responsible for the effective use of personnel, material and equipment

Additional

Basic Qualifications:

  • High level of analytical ability where problems are unusual and difficult
  • High level of interpersonal skills to work effectively with others in a diverse environment
  • Experience/knowledge of GM Global Manufacturing System (GMS)
  • 4-year technical degree preferred (BSME, BSEE) or equivalent experience
  • High level of oral and written communication skills
  • Working knowledge of Workplace Safety System (WSS)
  • Knowledge of continuous improvement processes (CIP)
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent Industrial Maintenance Leadership experience
