Full Time Assistant Teacher (Early Childhood, Childcare)

Summary
We are a Christian daycare looking for a full-time teacher (30-40 hours / week).
The Assistant Lead Teacher support the classroom by creating a caring and safe environment for the children and assisting in activities to improve the overall care and quality of education. S/he must be able to communicate, listen and work well with others in a team environment. Assisting the staff in implementing a quality educational program and in developing positive relationships with the children and their parents, the Assistant Lead Teacher observes and documents children's interests and progress, and relays that information back to parents and staff.
We are looking for teachers to fill 3 positions. These positions are with children 1 years of age, two years of age, and 3-5 year olds.
Duties

• Follow all center policies and state regulations.
• Actively engage in activities; manage cleanliness, order, and availability of classroom materials.
• Help ensure smooth, daily transition from home to child care center.
• Maintain frequent communications with parents through informal discussions and progress reports.
• Encourage self-help and good hygiene through behavior modeling.
• Maintain personal professional development plan to ensure continuous quality improvement.
• Assist in the implementation of curricula activities and encourage participation by children.

Requirements

• Must sign a lifestyle agreement form.
• Ability to work well with others.
• Must clear full background check.
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Infant/child CPR and First Aid certification.
• Excellent leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Must sign a statement of faith and lifestyle statement
• Must pass health screening which includes a TB test and proof of MMR.
• Washington STARS Basics training for Early Childhood Education (we will assist in getting this training done if needed).

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience working in a childcare center or family care home center.
