Front-End Engineer - Order Processing And Experiences - Hybrid

As a Front-End Engineer on our Order Processing and Experiences team, you’ll play an integral part and participate in every phase of the software development lifecycle.  You will also participate in planning activities and design, test, build and application deployment.  You’ll participate in and eventually lead technical and process design sessions on your team.
We are looking for a front-end developer with experience working on backend Java applications. This candidate must have worked with React and ideally React Native as their primary frameworks.
*** This role is hybrid, which means you must be located within a drivable distance to one of our Best Buy corporate offices in Richfield MN, Atlanta GA, and/or Seattle WA. You might be asked to come into the office up to 3 days per week.
What you’ll do

• Maintain code and write automated tests to ensure the product is of the highest quality
• Design, test, build & deploy employee and customer-facing front-end applications using React and/or React Native concepts
• Be an active participant in planning activities
• Build React and React Native UIs across our mobile and web platforms
• Partner with the UX team to bring a design vision to reality
• You’ll be tasked to triage complex issues independently in both production and locally
• Understand the technical design and architecture of core systems and the processes those systems support.
• Diagnose and fix bugs and performance bottlenecks for performance that feels native

Basic qualifications

• 2 or more years of experience engineering front-end software with React
• 2 or more years of hands-on experience designing, building, and deploying Java/J2EE based enterprise-grade applications
• Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field or equivalent relevant professional experience.

Preferred qualifications

• 1 or more years of knowledge and experience with “CI/CD” tooling and platforms, tools like GitHub and/or Jenkins
• 2 or more years of experience in an agile and product-focused team
• 1 or more years of hands on development experience using JSON, REST, JAVA frameworks including Spring/Springboot.
• 3 or more years of full-stack engineering with ability to develop front-end and back-end applications
• Prior/current experience running and deploying applications in a cloud native or container-based architecture (Docker, Kubernetes)
• 1 or more years of experience in a test-driven development environment  (Jest, Cypress, Mocha/Chai)
