Software Engineer - Front-End Developer

Position Overview:

As our Front-End Developer, you will be responsible for building the customer facing side of our web applications. You will work as part of a team to implement new features, as well as make modifications to and fix bugs in our existing code. This position provides a unique opportunity to make an immediate impact on our newly launched Trovomics analytics platform. We are seeking a technologically literate professional, curious about new technologies, who is great at working on teams. Ultimately, you are responsible for translating our customer and company needs into functional, intuitive and appealing interactive features.

• First week: Learn the ins and outs of RHI’s Trovomics division & get to know the team.

• First month: Familiarize yourself with the Trovomics service & our development process.

• Start reviewing our legacy code base.

Responsibilities:

○ Design and develop front-end web applications using the chosen web framework.

○ Optimize applications for better user experience.

○ Write functional requirement documents and guides.

○ Architect & implement new software solutions while supporting & improving existing code base.

○ Work with stakeholders to help design UI/UX flows to fulfill business needs.

○ Work with UX and graphic designers to create functional and non-functional prototypes.

○ Develop visually appealing front-end website architecture, including translating designer mock-ups & wireframes into front-end code.

○ Design and develop new custom components to meet project requirements.

○ Collaborate with backend developers to design & develop updates to full stack system for meeting business requirements.

○ Design and develop user interface testing.

○ Ensure high quality graphic standards and brand consistency.

○ Ensure cross-platform optimization for mobile phones.

○ Ensure responsiveness of applications.

○ Stay up-to-date on emerging technologies.

Skills:

• Clear understanding of the fundamentals of the React framework, such as React components, hooks, & the React lifecycle.

• Excellent knowledge of front-end web programming languages/tools, such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and ReactJS, & WordPress.

• Familiarity with UI testing, cross-browser compatibility testing, and debugging

• In-depth understanding of the entire web development process (design, development and deployment).

• Good understanding of common programming paradigms and architectural design patterns. • Excellent knowledge of one or more back-end programming languages (Python, Javascript, etc.)

• Understanding of layout aesthetics.

• Working knowledge of SEO principles.

• Familiarity with common software development and management tools such as Git, Jira, etc.

• Experience with content management systems such as WordPress or Drupal is a plus.

Required Experience:

· 3+ years of industry or freelance experience in front end application development using web frameworks including ReactJS (or similar).

· 5+ years of demonstrable experience in JavaScript.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Human Centered Design or other related fields

Employment Type: Full-time.

Job Location: Malvern, PA. Hybrid work available, at supervisor's discretion.

Job Schedule: Primarily Mon-Fri, 9AM-5PM ET with flexibility as determined by supervisor
