Job Description
This is a part-time, weekend position. In conjunction with the Dow Center Management Team, the Front Desk Agent works to provide the highest level of hospitality service possible in an efficient, courteous and professional manner.


  • Assist in maintaining proper inventory levels, working with staff regarding department needs, and generating purchase orders and check requests.
  • Answer routine questions.
  • Greet, assist and handle routine business matters with both internal and external clients.
  • Make hotel reservations.
  • Proficiency in the hotel computer system to check guests in and out of the hotel, post charges and payments, set-up events for Dow Center and Rockwell Lake Lodge, and thorough knowledge of hotel and conference reporting.
  • Knowledge of daily set-ups to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Expertise in various office duties including computer word processing, proofreading, preparing forms and filing for the department.
  • Oversee and reconcile credit card statements for Dow Center Managers.
  • Manage work orders.
  • Maintain a personable and pleasant attitude.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Dow Center Management Team.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty mentioned satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.


Education And Experience


A High School Diploma or GED is required. Two to three years of prior experience or knowledge sufficient to demonstrate the ability to perform the job successfully is also required.


Physical Requirements


Ability to read, write, hear, speak, see and communicate effectively. Ability to operate basic office equipment to include, photocopier, fax machine, adding machine, computer equipment, and the like. Position is largely sedentary. Occasional lifting of office supplies, booklets, etc. is necessary.

  • Possess good organizational skills with the ability to multi-task. 2. Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions and effectively express ideas orally and in writing. 3. Ability to keep calm and remain personable under pressure. 4. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. 5. Knowledge of basic computer programs (Word, Excel, Outlook). 6. Possess excellent verbal communication skills. 7. Possess excellent interpersonal skills.
