Freelance Kitchen And Bath Designer

Blue Leaf Design Build is growing and looking for a talented and experienced Kitchen and Bath designer to join our residential remodeling company on a freelance basis. The designer will be:

The ideal candidate will be able to learn quickly, will be able to manage themselves, have knowledge of the kitchen and bath industry with 2020 or Prokitchen design, and proven high-end design experience. We provide the design software.

The Designer will be responsible for designing unique and beautiful spaces. The Designer must provide excellent product(s) and service to the client. The Designer will also be teaching our team how to use the software and create designs.

A deep understanding of interior finish residential construction methodology, appliances, countertops, tile, plumbing & lighting is required. The Designer must be an expert in both frameless and inset style cabinet construction. The Designer will also need to possess the ability to create visual presentation materials that are compelling and clearly communicate their vision to the customer. There will be 3-5 projects per year to start. As we are able to increase our offerings, there may be opportunity for more projects. The ability to work independently in an efficient manner will be paramount to success in this role.

Requirements:

• Familiarity with appropriate design and visualization tools
• Strong knowledge of kitchen design principles, industry trends, and materials
• Ability to accurately measure and record dimensions for projects
• Self-motivation and the ability to work independently
• Proficient with in 2020 or ProKitchen software
• Proficient in Microsoft Office products
• Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with our team and clients
• At least 3 years prior experience designing and selling kitchen and bath projects including cabinet packages.
• Respect for differing opinions, styles, and financial situations
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• In depth knowledge of single family residential finishing products such as cabinetry, tile, countertops, lighting, plumbing, and hardware
• Ability to work independently and meet project deadlines while adhering to company standards
• Professional appearance, well spoken, able to verbalize and communicate in a clear and concise manner
• Proven experience and portfolio showcasing your expertise in kitchen and bathroom design
• In-depth knowledge of and strict adherence to the area's building codes
• Active listening skills and attention to detail
• Strong understanding of residential remodeling practices and knowledge of building codes and regulations

Responsibilities:

• Keeping a record of hours and activities completed to ensure that clients are billed accurately
• Work with collaboratively with our Interior Designer and GC
• Suggesting appropriate materials and finishes
• Informing clients about appropriate care for their kitchens
• Ensure timely project delivery by adhering to project schedules
• Create detailed design plans, including layouts, material selections, and 3D renderings, that reflect the clients' vision and align with our company’s design principles
• Anticipating and informing clients of additional features which may be of use to them
• Conducting trade-only consultations to understand design goals, preferences, and functional requirements of their clients’ needs
• Incorporate knowledge of current design trends, materials, and fixtures to create innovative and appealing designs
• Provide expert advice and recommendations on space optimization, functional layouts, and aesthetic choices
• Collaborate with our team to understand clients' goals, preferences, and design requirements for kitchen and bathroom remodeling projects
• Meeting with clients to ascertain the intended functions and appearance of each space
• Observing prescribed building and safety regulations
