Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Forecast Analyst to join our client's dynamic team in the consumer goods industry in a permanent capacity. As a Forecast Analyst, you will be responsible for analyzing historical data, market trends, and consumer patterns to generate accurate forecasts for product demand. Your expertise in utilizing tools such as Power BI and Excel, combined with your in-depth understanding of the consumer goods industry, will be instrumental in driving strategic decision-making and optimizing inventory management. This role requires exceptional analytical skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.


Responsibilities:

  • Stay informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in demand forecasting to drive continuous improvement and innovation within the organization.
  • Provide regular reports and updates on forecast accuracy, key performance indicators, and market trends to support business planning and decision-making processes.
  • Proactively identify and communicate potential supply chain risks or disruptions based on demand forecasts, collaborating with relevant stakeholders to implement mitigation strategies.
  • Utilize historical sales data, market trends, and consumer insights to develop accurate demand forecasts for various products within the consumer goods industry.
  • Conduct in-depth analysis of market dynamics, competitive landscapes, and consumer behavior to identify factors influencing demand patterns.
  • Analyze and interpret forecast results to identify potential risks, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Sales, Marketing, and Supply Chain, to gather relevant information and align on forecast assumptions.
  • Develop and maintain forecast models using advanced statistical techniques and tools, ensuring accuracy and reliability.
  • Monitor and evaluate forecast performance by comparing actual sales data with forecasted figures, identifying variances, and implementing corrective actions when necessary.


Requirements:

  • Solid understanding of statistical forecasting methods and techniques.
  • Familiarity with consumer goods industry trends, market dynamics, and supply chain management principles is highly desirable.
  • Bachelor's degree in business, Supply Chain Management, Statistics, or a related field.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment and effectively influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex concepts in a clear and concise manner.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy in forecasting and reporting.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data sets and identify trends and patterns.
  • Proactive and self-motivated with the ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including functions, formulas, pivot tables, and data manipulation.
  • Proficient in utilizing Power BI for data visualization and analysis.
  • Previous experience working as a Forecast Analyst or in a similar analytical role within the consumer goods industry.
  • Experience with demand planning software or enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems is a plus.
