UNIT DESCRIPTION:
Food Product Packaging Assistant/Food Service Worker / Assembly Line
Job Details:
  • Sunday Through Thursday Position (approximately 7:30 am to 4:00 pm)
  • Food manufacturing facility
  • This is a food manufacturing site - Food Service Worker Position - Subtitle Packaging and Order Pulling Support.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Label packaging materials.
  • Engage in lot code and other training.
  • Arriving consistently and on time as scheduled (Sunday through Thursday position - approximately 7:30 am to 4:00 pm).
  • Ware washing dishes occasionally.
  • Lifting boxes, food products, and food containers up to 35-40 lbs.
  • Sweep, mop floors, and remove the trash.
  • Positive attitude, good work ethic, and ability to work well amongst a diverse team.
  • Abide by first in, first out procedures, label bulk products, date & rotate items/storeroom products.
  • Labeling products correctly, utilizing basic math skills, and adherence to recipes/instructions.
  • Standing for extended periods of time (reasonable accommodations are available as applicable).
  • Wash and clean produce.
  • Wash, sanitizer tools, and work surfaces.
Individuals do not require a strong culinary background. They must have a positive attitude, able to work alongside a team, and be open to feedback and training. The right worker with the attitude and commitment to learning will be a great asset to our team.

Position Summary:
The Food Prep Helper works primarily in the kitchen supporting the production of food products. The main function is to assist in the preparation of foodstuffs. Cleans and sanitizes work stations and production equipment. The general responsibilities of the position include those listed below, but Sodexo may identify other responsibilities of the position. These responsibilities may differ among accounts, depending on business necessities and client requirements.

General Responsibilities:

  • Attends all allergy and foodborne illness in-service training.
  • May taste test products.
  • Inspects workstations for compliance with service standards.
  • Keeps records and requisition for supplies/equipment as needed.
  • Complies with all Sodexo HACCP policies and procedures.
  • Participates in regular safety meetings, safety training and hazard assessments.
  • Attends training programs (classroom and virtual) as designated.
  • Reports all accidents and injuries in a timely manner.
  • Reads recipes and/or product directions.
  • Estimates food requirements.
  • May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
  • May have basic cooking responsibilities, i.e., cook vegetables, chicken for salads.
  • Assists in the preparation of hot and/or cold foods, and properly stores food, utilizing knowledge of temperature requirements and spoilage.
  • Complies with all company safety and risk management policies and procedures.
  • Operates a variety of kitchen utensils to weigh, measure, mix, wash, peel, cut, grind, stir, strain, seasons and knead foodstuffs for cooking, serving and storing.
  • Cleans and sanitizes workstations and equipment following all Sodexo, client and regulatory rules and procedures.

  • Close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus, with or without corrective lenses.

Working Conditions (may add additional conditions specific to defined work location):

  • Generally in an indoor setting; however, may supervise outside activities and events.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is primarily in a controlled, temperate environment; however, may be exposed to heat/cold during support of outside activities.
  • Varying schedule to include evenings, holidays, weekends and extended hours as business dictates.
