As a member of the Assisted & Automated Driving Domain within JLR’s Digital Product Platform groups, you will interface with global internal engineering groups as well as external vendors to build up, commission and release development engineering assets. Working as part of a small team your contributions will have a direct impact on the realisation and release of the fleet of vehicles used to make product development goals a realisation for our customers.

What you will be doing:


  • To build a report of asset utilisation and location to generate metrics on overall vehicle assett use and provide methods for improving overall utilisation, to support in the planning and co-ordination of data collection drives.
  • Act as a key point of contact for internal and external asset users, providing support by scheduling vehicle use and appropriate slots to update to support product development and engineering evaluation.
  • Manage and maintain records of asset maintenance, updates, and changes in accordance with corporate guidelines, utilizing internal tools to do so.
  • Managing the planning and logistics of recording devices for a fleet of data collection vehicles distributed across North America, ensuring that devices are tracked and delivered in a timely manner to the end user.
  • Manage the planning and logistics of a set of engineering assets to ensure that activities can be undertaken across North America. Ensuring vehicles are correctly registered and licensed in accordance with state policies.
  • Contribute to the creation and enforcement of vehicle booking and checkout policies, ensuring compliance, monitoring use, validating employee vehicle use authorization in conjunction with HR (Human Resources)
  • Ensure that assets are kept in a state of repair to maximise up time and that vehicles are washed and cleaned externally and internally to ensure effectiveness and support brand image.
  • Keep track of all fuel purchases and milage for fleet vehicles, whilst monitoring and reporting any safety concerns with the fleet.
  • Manage use of engineering asset's for both internal and external users, ensuring that vehicle up time is maximised and that appropriate planning is in place for vehicle repairs and scheduled maintenance.


What you will need:


  • Good administrative and organizational skills
  • Experience of structured problem-solving skills such as Six Sigma.
  • Previous experience in planning tools such as “Schedule It”
  • Computer literate, including Microsoft Office competency to produce plans, presentations, graphs, and single points lessons.
  • A Full Valid Driving License with no disqualifications on an incident free driving record.
  • Working knowledge of JIRA and Confluence is helpful.
  • Must be able to stand, sit and walk at for extended periods.
  • Knowledge and experience in logistics or a working in a hire or fleet team
