Job Summary
This entry-level to mid-level Firmware Engineer position supports the product development process from beginning to end. This role will focus on Network Monitoring product embedded development across our Global Engineering Shared Software (GESS) organization. The Firmware Engineer will develop the embedded firmware features to meet the required product functionality.
The Firmware Engineer supports several lines of business for our global portfolio of products. The Firmware Engineer interacts with and lead engineers to support our Global engineering and product teams. Additionally, the Firmware Engineer supports and works with our Quality teams for unit and automated testing.
Responsibilities :
- Software package/containerization familiarity (Docker, Kubernetes) is preferred.
- Responsible for keeping excellent, organized project records and documentation.
- Participates in sustaining activities for existing products including diagnosis and resolution of defects.
- Responsible for all aspects of firmware design and development for new innovative products and features using embedded microprocessors.
- Product development activities include design and development, design reviews, documentation, product verification, coordination with quality assurance, and field validation.
- Implement the software architecture and firmware on hardware through integration, test, and high-volume manufacturing.
- Deliver high-quality C/C++ code in a real-time embedded Linux environment.
- Interact with engineering, marketing, management, and project leads to assure that product development priorities are completed to schedule and budget while ensuring quality and product performance requirements are met.
Requirements :
- Integration, troubleshooting, and debugging skills.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related degree
- Experience in version control and bug tracking.
- Strong development skills in C/C++, familiar with the development environment.
- Excellent team working skills, drive, self-motivation, and focus on results.
- Familiar off-the-shelf Compute Modules (Arduino, Raspberry Pi, etc.) is preferred.
- Possess good mathematical foundation, with strong research willingness and ability.
- Fluent in software fundamentals including software design and maintainability.
- Prefer some familiarity with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes, etc.)
- 0-3 years’ experience
- Experience developing Linux (Yocto) and RTOS projects.
- Experience of version control and bug tracking.
- Ability to collaborate and communicate complex technical concepts.
