Firefighter Jobs

Provide and perform fire suppression, emergency medical response and fire prevention services to the community (including fire district contract, and mutual aid agreements) through proactive and reactive service delivery.

Performs Fire suppression activities, duties and tasks at fire and rescue scene in a safe and logistically sound manner so as to maximize safety of self and others and achieve the best outcome given the scene circumstances.
Duties and tasks include but are not limited to:

• Assists in laying hose and making connections to hydrants;
• Work at heights of 10+ feet,
• Direct streams of water or chemicals onto fires;
• Required to wear self-contained breathing apparatus and enter toxic and/or hazardous atmospheres to perform rescue and fire suppression activities;
• Ventilate burning buildings and use smoke ejectors by using appropriate techniques for the type of structure.
• Position and climb ladders to gain access to upper levels of buildings;

Education:High School or G.E.D.

• Must maintain licensing and certification, once attained, continuously throughout employment.
• Minimum 21 years of age at time of hire.
• Possession of a valid Colorado driver's License or ability to obtain same within 30 days of employment;
