Job Description

Thompson Safety is seeking a skilled and motivated Fire Alarm Technician to join our team. As a Fire Alarm Technician, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing fire alarm systems to ensure they operate effectively and in compliance with industry standards and regulations. Your role will involve diagnosing issues, conducting regular inspections, troubleshooting, and providing technical support to clients. The ideal candidate should have strong technical knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.


**Responsibilities:**

- Install, test, and commission fire alarm systems in accordance with blueprints, manufacturer guidelines, and local codes.

- Perform routine inspections, maintenance, and repairs on existing fire alarm systems.

- Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with fire alarm systems, including control panels, detectors, wiring, and peripheral devices.

- Provide technical support to clients and address their inquiries and concerns in a professional manner.

- Keep accurate records of work performed, including maintenance reports, inspection findings, and equipment inventory.

- Stay current with industry trends, codes, and regulations related to fire alarm systems.

- Collaborate with team members to coordinate project timelines and ensure efficient workflow.

- Participate in training sessions and workshops to enhance technical skills and knowledge.


**Qualifications:**

- High school diploma or equivalent; formal training or certification in fire alarm systems is a plus.

- Proven experience as a Fire Alarm Technician or in a similar role.

- Strong understanding of fire alarm systems, including different types of detectors, control panels, and communication protocols.

- Familiarity with relevant codes and regulations, such as NFPA and local fire codes.

- Proficiency in using testing equipment, hand tools, and power tools.

- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work well under pressure.

- Effective communication skills and a customer-oriented approach.

- Valid driver's license and the ability to travel to various job sites.
