Job Description

***Must have an active TS/SCI with Polygraph Security Clearance ***

Under general supervision, this position performs technical and general maintenance work on a variety of fire systems.

  • Other duties as assigned
  • Perform repairs, minor alterations, and routine service work
  • Responsible for preparation and maintenance of reports and logs as needed.
  • Removes subcomponents of alarm systems, cleans and replaces to insure proper operation fire protection systems Determines fire alarm system state of readiness through testing and inspections recording results.
  • Assist with the implementation of standard trade practices and procedures (using appropriate safety precautions) for routine maintenance
  • Complete preventive maintenance (PMs) and client and proactive work orders along with housekeeping responsibilities in the work areas and shop.
  • Ensure all monthly, semi-annual, annual tested are conducted to meet NFPA standards.
  • Performs general labor duties associated with the installation, removal and modification of fire alarm systems.
  • Supports the fire alarm detection maintenance program for facilities Executes maintenance, test and inspection programs using tools, manuals and specialized test equipment.
  • Runs wire, installs boxes and devices using a variety of hand held and electrical power tools and equipment.
  • Maintain compliance with all applicable policies, procedures, and global standards

Basic Job Requirements

  • Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner
  • Job related technical knowledge necessary to complete the job
  • A combination of education and directly related experience equal to eight (8) years; some locations may have additional or different qualifications in order to comply with local regulations
  • Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitors

Other Job Requirements

  • U.S. Citizen with valid driver’s license
  • Knowledge of UFC, NFPA, NEC and IBC codes in order to identify deficiencies
  • Must have an active TS/SCI with Polygraph Clearance
  • Experience in inspecting, testing / troubleshooting, repairing, maintaining and commissioning fire alarm systems
  • Requires the job knowledge, skill level and physical ability necessary to perform assigned job functions.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ability to read and interpret building layouts, system drawings and manufacturers’ equipment specifications
  • Knowledge and experience with basic hand tools and test equipment
  • Knowledge of standard and specialized maintenance practices
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
  • Minimum three (3) years of trade school education or global equivalent
  • High School Diploma or equivalent appropriate General Certificates of Secondary Education or global equivalent preferred
  • Local Candidates Preferred
